Mother's Little Helper Bread Recipe
1 cup warm water
1 Tablespoon fast acting yeast
1 Tablespoon honey or sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oil
3 cups flour –approximately-
If you use whole wheat and white flour add wheat in the middle of the process and use
1 cup whole wheat to 2 cups white
Add yeast to warm water and immediately add sweetener (sugar works a bit better) let sit for a few minutes until the yeast is activated. Add the rest of the ingredients except flour.
This mixture can sit for several minutes without changing the outcome.
When you are ready - begin adding flour half a cup at a time. When the mixture begins to resemble a ball take it out of the bowl and begin kneading on the table—adding a teaspoon of flour at a time until the dough is soft but not sticky. This recipe is best for rolls and is ideal for serving fresh.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
